An accident involving eight vehicles believed to be caused by a red car that drove against traffic occurred on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) yesterday morning (Sep 21).
It was also reported on Sep 21 that a red car was seen driving against traffic on the Central Expressway (CTE).
Stomper Zorom alerted Stomp to two videos circulating online showing what happened on the CTE.
In the first video, a the red car can be seen driving against traffic in a relatively empty tunnel. In a second video, the car was also driving against traffic on the right-most lane of an open road.
The description of a the video stated that the footage was recorded around 6.10am, minutes before the eight-vehicle pile up on the AYE.
It is unclear if the red car drove against traffic was the same red car that was involved in the accident.
However, given the colour of the car, timing of the incidents, the fact that both incidents involved a car driving against traffic as well as the location where the incidents (AYE and CTE which connected with each other), there is reason to believe that both incidents are related.
According to Shin Min Daily News, the accident on the AYE left three people injured.
The pile-up also caused a massive 10km long traffic jam on the expressway.
